The car in question is a Bristol 408, an aluminium car with an American Chrysler 5.2 V8 and many aeronautical design features to hark back to when Bristol made fighter planes. Barn Find 80s Classic Hot Hatch Turbo discovered - Remember these? Jonny Smith meets a man in Warwickshire who laid up his 1989 MG Maestro Turbo before it was 10 years old. Some 24 years later Jonny helps to uncover it and push it outside, before trying to start the 150bhp 2.0-litre Turbo Austin Rover engine. Although only 505 Maestro Turbos were ever produced, 92 of those were white. This is number 304. Welcome to another Barn find episode of The Late Brake Show, where Jonny Smith unearths an incredibly rare Lamborghini survivor. The car has secretly sat inside a stone barn, abandoned 30 years ago after the owner mysteriously disappeared. This is a British right hand drive Lamborghini Espada, of which only 130 were made (there were over 1200 Espadas in total made between 1968 and 1978). Thanks for stopping by The Late Brake Show. The mysterious nature of this discovery is just as intriguing as the rarity of the RHD Lamborghini V12, as Jonny learns that the deceased land owner was actually storing the car for a person who paid for several months storage and then never returned. That was over 30 years ago! There was no information in writing about the owner, and the solicitor land owner was left owed for decades of unpaid rent. The traditional stone barn had no windows and sat in a very secretive part of the Lake District, near Kendal. Amongst the idyllic scenery passers-by would never suspect what may be inside the barn. The Lamborghini was hidden by sheets of wood, a layer of owl droppings and constant darkness. It was also boxed in by a 1990s Vauxhall Cavalier and Calibra, also unclaimed by their original owners. Then my good friend Dave messages me again saying he's still open for me to go and look at his collection and can record it if I want, WELL! What an absolute legend of a man. On arriving to where my mate dave lives i wasn't really expecting much. Driving into a quiet homely council estate, Nothing really out of the norm, kids running about cars parked here and there, It felt like any other estate in Not so Great britain...Straight away i was greeted by his wife waving, It felt like i had pulled into one of the east end streets, Nothing but love haha, I instantly felt at home, Fantastic start, The first car i see was the old Ford sat on the drive, On getting out of my car i was greeted by their son very nice chap, And then I see Dave, mountain of a man with a lot of life in his eyes, Fantastic bloke! He takes me down the side of his house we enter his back garden, walk up to the barn/shed/garage, he opens up the gates!! MIND BLOWN!! He only has a barn find COSWORTH HIDDEN!!! What a dream come true and, on top of that, he has a 40k 1 owner Mini Cooper! A custom softail fat boy, Harley Davidson, not to mention other cool cars like a retro 2.8 Granada! What an absolutely amazing day i had. If it wasn't for this man, I doubt I'd be getting back into car finds as i nearly lost all hope. It's not easy doing my job, especially when all you get is negativity aimed at you for doing something like trying to save classic/retro cars. Anyway, I do hope you enjoy what you see. Helen Corbett's late husband was a huge classic car nut, and was saving the TR6 as a retirement project. Sadly his life was cut short and he passed away two years ago. Helen's father in law (Kevin's father) previously owned the 911 since it was only about 5 years old, and he passed it on to Kevin and Helen when he died in 20 years ago.
