There are many different ashes of war in Elden Ring. The most powerful one is available at the very start of the game, the flame of the redmanes. This ashes of war is a frontal cone area of effect ranged fire attack that does incredible damage and poise damage at a low FP cost. This ability is spammable and will allow you to defeat most bosses and monsters effortlessly. It is well hidden though. The game makes use of a player character stamina bar after being absent from Sekiro, although its overall influence over combat was reduced compared to previous FromSoftware games that utilized it. Unlike in Sekiro, resurrection mechanics after in-game death are not available; however, some elements were added to ensure players' progression within the game. This ash of war allows for a true combo r1 attack if you land it making it a poise players dream ash of war to trade with other attacks. This ash of war can be used on several different weapons, but feels the best on the greatsword because of its limited move set and range. Allowing for some insane roll catching/punishing potential.
