As an X-T3 user I’m thinking of staying with Fuji but the S5II has some awesome video features. Very hard decision to make
All these cameras have become so good, that the only think left to differentiate them are certain features and lens choice. I LOVE my XH2-S, but the Lumix looks like a beast and an absolute joy to use!
FUJI is magic!
Fuji interface doesnt like cinematography.
S5ii rolling shutter sux
There videos showing S5ii af is better. Now he says its better in xh2s 😂
Thank you for the great comparison!
I shoot more video than stills, so I need the S5IIx's waveform monitor and ability to set shutter angle in degrees.
That said, the Fujis are great still cameras - and the stacked sensor is terrific - but for video, they lack key features.
what about dynamic range and latitude?
I cannot comment on the LUMIX but I just bought a X-H2S a couple months ago and am very impressed with its performance. I use it as a hybrid photo/video camera with a camera cage rig that has a Arca quick release so I can go back and forth quickly. Even though it is APS-C, don't let that fool you. Its video is better looking than my Nikon D750 (which is full frame, but only 2K video) and its auto focus is "Johny-on-the-spot." I also love the in-camera color grades, but it can shoot in RAW (photo) and F-log (video) those color grades save a lot of time in post when there's not a lot of time to sit through the color grading process. It is a great camera for still-shots and video. It goes up to 6K video, but I mostly stay in 4K. The slow-motion video is very nice, and it gives several file format options within the MP4 to MOV envelopes to suit your specific needs. Here are some video clips I got with the X-H2s this month: c_3GX3Qc6Zo c_3GX3Qc6Zo Here are some comparisons between the in-camera color grades ZhiNu5LVgi8&t=4s ZhiNu5LVgi8&t=4s
May I ask what lenes you use for filming with the XH2s and what autofokus settings?
Hey! Nice video. Which of these two would you recommend for real estate photography and video?
Stacked sensor it’s a easy W for the fuji for me. I don’t think people understand the importance of that. Also fuji renders video in 14bit if you’re shooting at 30fps or under. This is why the DR on the fuji is beautiful. If full frame sensors were always better then nobody would use s35 sensors in professional Hollywood films but here we are with Arri.
Excellent comparison! Did you notice moire patterns on the s5ii due to the lack of AA filter to the sensor? And if so is it going to be a problem on professional work?
Did you try the lowlight autofocus in photography?
Can you change settings like iso during video recording or do you need to stop recording to change?
What do you think about Ibis and framerates? The Ibis from my Xh2s is you good if you don't move. 120fps in 4k are soft I think and I think the af in 120fps is not reliable.
The value of aps-c is the size and weight saving you make up for the loss of quality on a crop sensor. Unless you're gaining from the crop with telephoto or something the better choice will be the S5II. Fujifilm doesn't take advantage of potential faster readout speeds on the sensor to gain better AF, so the S5II has superior AF despite the larger sensor too. The X-H is basically the same size so it even lost a lot of its advantage there — When the sensor is half the size the camera probably could have been too. There is nothing really that Fujifilm are doing better here. They're just making 4th place behind Sony, Canon, and Panasonic fullframe. Rather than offering something different like they used to, they're trying to make the same, but worse?
It's great for bird photographers though. They like the extra crop to get closer with good resolution and a very heavy body to balance the long telephoto lenses. For everyone else this is all of the negatives of fullframe with all of the negatives of aps-c. 😂
can you compare the video images from the two camera? It doesn't exist a test like this on YouTube
"promosm"
much awaited 😅
The crop in 60p on the Panasonic, makes the Fuji the clear winner.
