This week we venture into west Wanaka, in New Zealand with the incredible Fujifilm X-H2S and XF 150-600mm. We look at video quality at 4k, slow-motion and also high speed shooting. The X-H1S boast: - Stacked Layer, Backside Illuminated, CMOS 5 Sensor - Upto 40fps with Electronic Shutter - Upto 15fps with Mechanical - Apple ProRes - 6.2K 30p - 4k 120p - 7 stops IBIS - Subject detection AF (People, Animals, Birds, Cars, Planes) - Updated buttons, dials and strap lugs - Large Viewpoint and high resolution EVF - File Transfer Grip, Battery Grip, Cooling Fan etc
I'm just wondering whether you have tried moving subjects with this "wildlife powerhouse combo"???
I've watched videos saying that xh2s' object tracking sucks. What does your experience say about this? Did the software updates work? I'm thinking of buying the camera. but this is bothering me
Hi Bernie! Thank you so much for your video! I own XH2 and 150-600mm. I wonder have you tried shooting fast birds in flight with this combo? The birds like hummingbirds, swallows or kingfishers. How do you feel this lens performance? Thank you!
Hi, nice video! Did you or do you experience some back focus issues with your xh2s? I have a 70-300 and 100-400 + TL, and no matter what combination of lenses I use, more than 80 percent of pics are out of focus when ai is activated (birds, animals and ppl eye). Thanks
Great shots! Still can’t believe Fuji went with f8 on a crop sensor just to save 0.5 lbs or so… I went with the Tamron 150-500 and love it. Although the Fuji edges out on autofocus & IQ, I couldn’t justify paying the extra $850 for slightly better performance while being 1/3-2/3 stops slower
What backpack are you using in this video? Looks like it would be a good fit for this combo. I also have the X-H2S and 150-600 lens.
Cool footage - it is all about putting yourself in the right place and then a lot pot patience! I have and X-T5, maybe not so good for video (but good enough I hope - I can clean up 120fps sufficiently). Now subscribed - look forward to seeing more from you.
Very lucky with the birdie shots Bernie, playing the patient game obviously pays off!
I see there’s a local job in Wanaka advertised just this week and very tempted to apply and see what my chances are, doesn’t pay the best and getting over from Brisbane won’t be easy BUT having that stunning landscape and wildlife to shoot would be worth all the effort, I just need the job first.
Can you put in a good word for me at the local REECE plumbing branch in town for me ? BTW…. I should be getting a healthy Tax return this year so that 150-600mm could be on my radar. May I ask what bag you use on your day hikes shooting? I recently purchased a Mindshift 180 rotation 50 litre Pro / Plus which would ideally suit the Wanaka area (wink wink-nudge nudge) I think I just might apply for that job after all
May have to rent a 150-600 at some point. Keen to biff one onto the X-T4 for some video 👍👍
